Project Details
Bergmann Associates was invited to design the main lobby interior for the new University Services Center. It is a 54,000 sq. ft. complex which also includes a 10,000 sq. ft. Student Innovation Center. The administrative building provides office space for a variety of RIT departments including Development, Government, Community Relations, Dean of Graduate Studies and Student Employment. The lobby will serve as a location which students can manage business related to finances, scheduling, parking and housing.
The design aesthetics that Bergmann created were made to provide the feel of an upscale boutique hotel lobby. Its selection of finishes included a warm neutral color palette with bright accents. Anticipated to be LEED Platinum status, the space includes a palette of sustainable materials including bamboo, venetian and stone plaster and materials with high recycled content.
The space also features a custom designed curved glass wall by local artist Nancy Gong, custom designed furniture and a 14 ft. wide waterfall.
