Project Details

The City of Rochester awarded Bergmann Associates a project that would consolidate the administrative offices of the Fire and Police Departments, as well as the City's Data Processing Center into a central location. The building is prominent in that it completes the third side of the elevated Civic Center Plaza originally constructed in the 1960's as well as anchors one of the western gateways to the downtown core. While it is compatible with, but does not replicate, the existing limestone buildings surrounding the plaza it opens up with a full height glass curtainwall toward its street elevation. The two story high entrance volume provides public/pedestrian access at both the street and plaza levels while accommodating all of the public functions within the building.
