Project Details

Bergmann Associates provided innovative "In-the-Wet" design of a new tainter gated dam.  This project utilized two large precast float-in segments for the base of the new dam (265' & 333' lengths) with extensive use of precast elements and fabrication of segments at an offsite casting facility.  Project also used deep concrete drilled shaft foundations, sheet pile cut-off walls with H-piles and pipe piles, dredging, underwater work, tremie concrete placements and mooring systems.  These innovative construction methods allowed construction of the dam without the use of cofferdams for cost and schedule savings.
