Their website has resources for design and construction projects organized by CSI division and LEED® credits.

Energy Star The EPA's ENERGY STAR is a joint program of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy helping us all save money and protect the environment through energy efficient products and practices U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
  LID Center The Low Impact Development Center is a non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of Low Impact Development technology. Low Impact Development is a new, comprehensive land planning and engineering design approach with a goal of maintaining and enhancing the pre-development hydrologic regime of urban and developing watersheds.

  New York State Energy and Research Development Association NYSERDA  NYSERDA is a public benefit corporation which strives to facilitate change through the widespread development and use of innovative technologies to improve the State's energy, economic, and environmental wellbeing.  On their site you will find information on available financial incentives for your building for anything from Building Commissioning assistance to the On Site (Small) Wind System Incentive Program.

  U.S. Department of Energy's Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) The EERE works to strengthen the United States' energy security, environmental quality, and economic vitality in public-private partnerships.  On their site you'll find information on various topics including; current Energy Initiatives, energy Tax Incentives, Building Technologies, Biomass, Solar Energy Technologies and many more.

  U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) is a 501(c)(3) non profi t composed of leaders from every sector of the building industry working to promote buildings and communities that are environmentally responsible, profitable table and healthy places to live and work.  On their site you will find information from the LEED Green Building Rating System to helpful resources on various topics including Green Building Research, LEED Project Case Studies, Presentations, and a variety of very helpful Green Building links.


  GreenLITES The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) is committed to improving the quality of our transportation infrastructure in ways that minimize impacts to the environment, including the depletion of irreplaceable resources. To recognize transportation project designs that incorporate a high level of environmental sustainability, NYSDOT is implementing "greenlites logo (Leadership In Transportation and Environmental Sustainability)," a project rating program. 

  The Sustainable Sites Initiative is an interdisciplinary effort by the American Society of Landscape Architects, the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center and the United States Botanic Garden to create voluntary national guidelines and performance benchmarks for sustainable land design, construction and maintenance practices.


  ASHRAE Advanced Energy Design Guidelines
The ASHRAE Advanced Energy Design Guides (AEDG) are a series of publications designed to provide recommendations for achieving energy savings over the minimum code requirements of ANSI/ASHRAE/IESNA Standard 90.1-1999.  The guides have been developed in collaboration with these partnering organizations:  The American Institute of Architects (AIA), the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IES), the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE).  The New Building Institute (NBI) participated only in the development of the Advanced Energy Design Guide for Small Office Buildings. You can download them for free at the link above!

Environmental Design + Construction magazine is a great source for integrated high-performance building and is dedicated to efficient and sustainable design and construction. 


  EPA Household Emissions Calculator You can use the following online calculator to get a rough "ballpark" estimate of your personal or family's greenhouse gas emissions and explore the impact of taking various actions to reduce your emissions.

National Geographic Greendex Calculator is a calculator that measures up your personal everyday choices i.e. food you eat, and compares it to the rest of the world.  From their website "National Geographic and the international polling firm GlobeScan have just conducted a study measuring and monitoring consumer progress toward environmentally sustainable consumption in 14 countries around the world. The result: the National Geographic/GlobeScan "Consumer Greendex," a scientifically derived sustainable consumption index of actual consumer behavior and material lifestyles across 14 countries. The Greendex will be tracked over time and will be comparable across the selection of countries representing both the developed and developing world.
