The Northeast Buildings Architecture/Interior Design group at national architecture, engineering and planning firm Bergmann came together to provide 48 second grade students at Dr. Louis A. Cerruli School No. 34 in Rochester, New York some needed holiday cheer. The group packaged up and provided school supplies, socks, gloves, fun activities and toys, snacks, and grocery gift cards to Price Rite in hand-decorated reusable bags. The bags were delivered by the teachers to the students on Wednesday, December 16.
In honor of the holiday season and in light of the unforeseen challenges experienced by the students and their families this year, the group came together to provide a little extra "light." More than $1,200 in donations were received, which allowed for the purchase of:
- $15 gift cards to Price Rite
- 2 pair of socks, plus fun, fuzzy socks
- Coloring books and crayons
- Small white boards and dry erase markers
- Play-Doh, Slime, and Blonko blocks
- Pencils and holiday novelty pencils
- Small toys and Lip Smackers
- Snacks and candy
"It was wonderful to have so many people contribute and fun to see the creative bags that were designed. It's been a challenging year for so many in the Rochester community and our team enjoyed being able to make a small but meaningful impact for these kids and families for the holidays," said Architecture/Interior Design discipline lead, Laura Cooney, AIA/NCARB.
