Bergmann Honored with Prestigious Empire Award

National architecture, engineering and planning firm Bergmann, is pleased to announce that it has received the New York State Senate Empire Award for work they have performed within the City of Rochester.

Each year, the New York State Senate gives special recognition to New Yorkers who have contributed significantly to their communities in the areas of Community Involvement, Leadership, Local Business, Public Service, Military Service, and Acts of Bravery & Heroism. Along with eight other businesses honored, Bergmann was nominated by 56th District Senator Jeremy A. Cooney and the award has been given in recognition of the firm’s leadership and contributions to the revitalization of Rochester.

“Bergmann is honored to receive the Empire Award from Senator Jeremy Cooney,” said Andrew Raus, AICP, Senior Vice President, Bergmann. “For more than 43 years Bergmann has helped shape the built environment of Rochester, build capacity within the community and support the many organizations critical to our region’s success. We are humbled and appreciative to receive such a prestigious award.”

The professionals at Bergmann have been involved with ongoing improvements for the City of Rochester with most recent notable projects including the Inner Loop North Transformation, the Aqueduct Reimagined, 260 East Broad Street and the West River Wall Improvements in Corn Hill.

“I have grown up in this City and seen the results of their work,” said NYS Senator Jeremy Cooney during the award ceremony at Bergmann’s Rochester headquarters. “When you look around visually at Rochester and you see these projects, neighborhoods, buildings, it is often times the result of the very talented people at Bergmann.”
