Robert Fleming, PE, project engineer at national architecture, engineering and planning firm Bergmann, has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Western NY Chapter of the Association of Bridge Construction and Design (ABCD). Fleming works out of Bergmann’s Rochester office, participating in structural design projects as well as providing construction oversight.
In his three years at Bergmann, Fleming has worked on designing replacement structures and preventive maintenance projects. Most recently, he completed the design of a 200-foot pedestrian bridge as part of the City of Rochester’s Promenade at Erie Harbor project. He received his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the State University of New York at Buffalo
The Western New York Chapter of the ABCD works to increase recognition of the bridge engineering industry, promote fellowship among members, and provide the best in educational opportunities for all involved in bridges. The 2019-2020 ABCD officers and directors were announced at the Annual Dinner Meeting and Bridge Awards in May.
