Stacy Lake, corporate communications manager for national architecture, engineering and planning firm Bergmann, is one of 13 finalists for the 2021 ATHENA International Young Professional Award. The ATHENA awards, which honor and empower women in business, are presented annually in three categories by the Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce and its Women’s Council Affiliate.

The ATHENA International Young Professional Award recognizes emerging female leaders in the 30- to 45-year-old range who demonstrate excellence, creativity, and initiative in their business or profession and serve as a role model for young women both personally and professionally.

Stacy joined Bergmann in 2019 and oversees the marketing and communications efforts for the firm, connecting the 450+ employees and supporting a diverse portfolio of services across the firm’s 15 locations. Prior to joining Bergmann, Stacy served in account management, client service, marketing, and digital strategy roles at Reward Gateway, Dixon Schwabl, and Casa Larga Vineyards.

“Stacy serves as an energetic and effective mentor for her team, helping them advance their skills to suit the needs of the growing company, while acting as a vital partner for business leaders, supporting their business development goals,” said Pietro V. Giovenco, PE, president and chief executive officer, Bergmann. “Since the onset of the pandemic, she has played a critical role in the company’s communications, introducing a streamlined strategy while encouraging out-of-the-box thinking to successfully connect a newly remote workforce.”

Stacy is extensively involved in the Greater Rochester community. She serves as a Dean’s Council and Advisory Board Executive Committee Member for Saunders College of Business at Rochester Institute of Technology, Executive Committee Member for the American Heart Association Rochester Heart Walk & Run, Member of Alpha Xi Delta Women’s Fraternity, and a volunteer and sponsor for the Fairport Music Festival.

She has also served as a business mentor to youth in the Young Entrepreneur’s Academy and has delivered talks and led workshops on workplace culture and employee engagement at professional events and conferences. Stacy was named Outstanding Alumni Volunteer by RIT’s Saunders College of Business in 2020.

The 35th annual ATHENA Awards celebration will take place on April 22, 2021.
