Charles Bertuch, PE, LEED, Bergmann’s Conservation Practice Leader located out of the firm’s Syracuse office, recently became Bergmann’s first WELL Building Accredited Professional (Well AP).
The WELL Building Standard, offered by the International Well Building Institute, marries best practices in design and construction with evidence-based health and wellness interventions. The WELL Building Standard is founded on the understanding that facets of our environment interact with personal, genetic and behavioral factors to shape our overall health and wellbeing. WELL-certified buildings offer features that optimize human wellness to benefit the occupants and larger environment.
There are currently almost 30,000 WELL-certified or registered projects encompassing more than 2.6 billion square feet worldwide, and the number of new projects is growing exponentially. With the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, wellness of the workplace has become even more important to building owners. Bergmann’s ability to deliver WELL-certified projects will help meet this demand.
