Genesee Arch Bridge / Portageville Bridge Replacement

Portageville Bridge

The Portageville Bridge Replacement in Portageville, New York was featured on the cover of the July 2020 issue of Modern Steel Construction, having won a Merit Award for Major Span.

The American Institute and Steel Construction (AISC) and the National Steel Bridge Alliance (NSBA) have awarded the Portageville Bridge Replacement a Merit Award for Major Span as part of the 2020 Prize Bridge Awards.

Completed in 2017, Bergmann was the Construction Project Manager for this project, providing construction inspection services, construction engineering assurance reviews and environmental monitoring to replace the aging trestle structure carrying the Norfolk Southern Railroad across the Genesee River gorge in Letchworth State Park.

"These projects are tributes to the creativity of the designers and skills of the constructors who collaborated to make them a reality," said AISC's president, Charlie Carter. "Steel shines and soars on their talents, and we celebrate the accomplishments these projects represent."
