To accommodate its expanding team, national architecture, engineering and planning firm Bergmann has moved into a new 12,000 square-foot office space in downtown Buffalo’s Waterfront Village. The firm previously occupied a 7,700 square-foot space on the floor below. There are currently 38 employees in Bergmann’s Buffalo office with plans to add up to 20 new team members over the next few years, with immediate openings for an administrative assistant, marketing proposal coordinator, landscape architect, project architect, project managers and engineers.
Bergmann expects growth in the Buffalo market to be driven in part by its Buildings practice, which includes architecture, urban planning and landscape architecture design services. To that end, the Bergmann team focuses on building strong relationships across the public and private sectors, working closely with the City of Buffalo, Buffalo-Niagara Partnership, county leadership and private businesses to support development throughout the region. Projects that Bergmann has been involved with include the Allen Street Extension project, Niagara Street transformation, Flight of Five lock rehabilitation in Lockport and ongoing asset solutions and management services with Erie County Department of Public Works. The firm is also designing the re-use of Terminal B in the Outer Harbor.
“Over our three decades in the Buffalo-Niagara region, we’ve witnessed the significant changes that have taken place in the market. We are proud to have played a role in that growth and progress,” said Andrew Raus, Senior Vice President, Bergmann. “We look forward to continuing to make a real impact in the ongoing revitalization of the region, providing outstanding career opportunities for our employees, and contributing to the quality of life in this community.”
Local Bergmann experts designed the new office space to reflect aspects of its culture, including collaboration, innovation and ideation. The design incorporates wave elements in the flooring and ceiling design to represent the Buffalo waterfront, as well as color elements for additional energy, reminding the team of the region’s incredible history and future opportunities.
Bergmann will welcome local officials, business partners and friends to a ribbon-cutting and open house event in late winter/early spring.
