Mr. Borrelli is a licensed professional engineer with 23 years of experience providing structural engineering solutions and design services to public and private bridge owners and contractors.  Mr. Borrelli has been with Bergmann Associates for 23 years and currently serves as the Regional Bridge Segment Manager for the New York area conducted out of our Rochester, Albany and Buffalo offices.   He is responsible for day-to-day operations of the bridge group, business development, staff oversight, and overall project quality and delivery.  Mr. Borrelli has more than 14 years of bridge project management experience involving multi-discipline design teams.  His major clients include; the NYSDOT, New York State Thruway Authority, numerous counties and cities throughout New York, the USACE, the National Park Service, bridge contractors and college and universities.

Mr. Borrelli’s portfolio of rehabilitated and replacement bridge projects have earned more than two dozen industry awards and includes; detailed inspection, feasibility studies, load rating, preliminary/final design and construction engineering for highway, rail, pedestrian and specialty bridge projects throughout the northeast.  His specialized project experience includes; complex bridge framing/curved girders, bridge hydraulics, staged and accelerated bridge construction methods, historic structure rehabilitation, railroad bridges, in-land waterway structures and alternative delivery procurement methods including experience with NYSDOT’s new design build program.

Mr. Borrelli graduated in 1991 with a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a concentration in structural engineering from the State University of New York at Buffalo and currently sits on the Curriculum Advisory Council for the Civil Engineering Department.   He has served on the Board of Directors of the Rochester Engineering Society and is a Past President and a former board member of the Monroe Professional Engineers Society.
