Mr. Avery is an Associate and the Water Resources Segment Leader at Bergmann Associates. He has 37 years of experience in environmental compliance and water resources engineering for state transportation agencies; Corps of Engineers; National Park Service; Eastman Kodak Company; Federal Emergency Management Agency; and natural resource agencies. He is experienced in leading programs and projects and performing independent technical reviews for projects involving: river hydraulics; ecosystem restoration; watershed hydrology; water quality; bridge scour; highway drainage; sewer; water transmissions; flood risk reduction; flood insurance; navigation structures; dams and levees. He is experienced in the application of steady and unsteady hydraulic models; hydrologic models; and federal policy and engineering guidelines in floodplain management, bridge hydraulics and scour, dams and levees, riprap and river mechanics. He is a member of ASCE, SAME, ASDSO, AWRA, is a Diplomate of the American Academy of Water Resources Engineers, and an Association of State Floodplain Managers Certified Floodplain Manager.
