This three story, 30,000 sq. ft. addition to the Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired's (ABVI) existing facility is the second step in a master plan to expand and redevelop their campus located on the southern edge of Downtown Rochester. Bergmann provided full-service, multi-discipline design for the development of this new facility including architecture, interior design, site design, and M/E/P support.
A programming and space planning study reviewed more than 40,000 sq. ft. of space in ABVI’s existing headquarters building and identified the need for the new addition to house a mix of office space, regional training and conference functions and expanded space to house ABVI’s growing Vision Rehabilitation services. The building’s design allows to link the buildings of the ABVI campus together as they extend for several blocks along Clinton Avenue.
