Alfred State College Student Leadership Center, Exterior, Alfred NY

Provided Civil, Structural & MEP Engineering services, as well as Construction Administration, for this unique center.

The Student Leadership Center at Alfred State College is a new four-story student center building located in the heart of the academic campus. Bergmann and design architect William Rawn Associates collaborated to create this unique center of excellence with significant campus-wide stakeholder participation. Designed as a place where student clubs, recreational activities and new student initiatives can emerge, the large interior opens out onto sweeping views of the surrounding countryside. An upper-level bridge connects back to the College’s central dining facility, reinforcing the notion that this center is a hub of student activity. Sophisticated building MEP systems incorporate a variety of sustainable technologies.
