All Aboard Florida - Brightline Passenger Rail System, Miami to Orlando FL

New & replacement bridge designs for Brightline's new intercity passenger rail system.

Bergmann designed 18 new or replacement bridges on the new All Aboard Florida 235-mile intercity passenger rail system that will connect Orlando to Miami, FL. Four of the bridges included pre-stressed concrete I-girder, steel deck girder and through plate girder bridges ranging in length from 240 feet to 1,700 feet. The remaining 14 bridges utilized pre-stressed concrete slab superstructures. The bridges are located in an active freight rail corridor that requires construction phasing to maintain freight traffic at all times. Bergmann also provided inspection and load-rating services during the preliminary planning phase of the project for all 18 structures.
