Planning and design services for the relocation and replacement of the existing pumping station.

As part of the Corning Bypass Project, Bergmann designed a new replacement 36,000 gpm stormwater pump station. The new pump station is housed in a 40 ft. x 40 ft. building with an overall height of 45 feet. Construction sequencing was developed that required two of the three 36 inch diameter pumps in service at all times. Relocated items included the pumps, motors, gear drive, fuel systems, fuel leak detection systems, flap valves and the overhead crane system.

Project Highlights

  • Partial removal and modifications to existing station
  • New 5' x 10' box culvert connecting new station to existing
  • Relocation of three existing pumps and bridge crane to new station
  • Staged construction to permit continuous pumping capabilities
  • Split-face ribbed masonry exterior with Lexan windows for vandal resistance
  • Heating and ventilation systems
  • Separate general, mechanical & electrical contracts
