Brooks Landing - Public Waterfront - Rochester NY

Design and construction services for the Brooks Landing public waterfront in Rochester, NY.

The Brooks Landing Public Waterfront established the west bank of the Genesee River in the southern portion of Rochester, NY, as a major local and regional recreation hub and destination. Bergmann provided design and construction oversight for the public component of this major waterfront economic development project. The goal of the project was to promote public access to the river, as well as the nearby park and trail system. This was accomplished by seamlessly integrating land and water-dependent activities, including a public boat landing and riverfront promenade, hotel and restaurant development. In addition, the Genesee Riverway Trail system was connected with historic Genesee Valley Park and the Erie Canal, as well as neighborhood and commercial interests. This was a unique opportunity to provide a public boating facility at a new hotel and restaurant location on the Erie Canal/Genesee River, resulting in accessible, safe, convenient and attractive waterfront facilities.
