Cayuga County Wayfinding Study, Cayuga County NY

Planning and design services for a comprehensive wayfinding system for Cayuga County, New York.

Located in the heart of the Finger Lakes Region, Cayuga County is a growing tourism destination with music festivals, hotels and boutique shopping experiences. Bergmann and Cloud Gehshan Associates were hired by the Cayuga County Convention and Visitors Bureau (CCCVB) to provide planning and design services to develop a County-wide signage system to direct travelers to key hubs within the county. The county identified cities, towns and villages, along priority routes. The project team developed a comprehensive wayfinding system based on three distinct sign types: gateway, directional, and destination. A phased implementation strategy allowed the County to install and fund the system over multiple years.
