Chautauqua County Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL), Chautauqua County NY

Development of an Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) solution for sheriff's vehicle tracking and display in Chautauqua County, NY.

The Bergmann GIS team developed an Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) solution so that the sheriff department could track and display vehicles. This AVL solution is comprised of 4 separate applications: The monitor application is used by Dispatch to view the real-time location of a single vehicle or a group of vehicles. The report generator allows a supervisor to view the historic location of any number of vehicles and includes a time-slider. The geofence tool allows for development of geofence locations used in reporting, and the MOBILE application shows a driver his location relative to other GIS data.
