A Creative Commons in the City of Rochester's Neighborhood of the Arts.

The ArtWalk project was designed to blend public infrastructure and artistic expression to add flavor, variety, and even whimsy to the Rochester's Neighborhood of the Arts. Bergmann used public input and consensus building to help create this community development project, which included significant improvements to University Avenue. The project included an 8-foot wide colored concrete sidewalk with imprinted artwork from local and regional artists, creating an outdoor urban art trail. Privately-donated and commissioned art work has subsequently been installed along the length of ArtWalk, permanently altering the context of the former vehicular corridor, resulting in an outdoor "museum" in the heart of the city.
