Renovation and expansion of the East Rochester, NY, Fire Station.

Bergmann provided design and engineering services for the East Rochester Fire Department to make renovations and additions to their facility originally built in 1967. The 21,000 square foot project was designed to meet the needs of the expanding functions of the modern fire department and to provide the volunteers with access to new technology. The main addition, situated at the front of the building, displays the character of the building without adding unnecessary cost to the project by eliminating the need to acquire adjacent properties.

Project Highlights

  • Two-story addition includes commissioner's office, line offices and conference rooms
  • Facade design respects the urban context of the village
  • Existing apparatus bays extended by 10 feet
  • Design for a complete new heating/ventilation/air conditioning system
