Fresh Grocer at Hamilton Square

As a part of its vision to link the campus to the City, The University of Pennsylvania asked Bergmann to imagine a new retail and entertainment area at its crucial 40th and Walnut Street intersection in West Philadelphia. Named Hamilton Square, the complex included renovated community shops and restaurants, a multiplex movie theater, and a new food market under an 800-space parking structure, leased by Fresh Grocer.  As architects of record for the innovative parking structure, Bergmann’s team also provided the store planning and fit out for the 40,000 sf grocery market.
