Novartis Pharmaceuticals Manufacturing Facilities
Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation and Bergmann entered into a formal partnering agreement to provide architectural and engineering assistance for the Northeastern USA region of Pharma Division, which is responsible for the research, discovery, development, manufacturing and marketing of prescription drugs. Novartis Pharmaceuticals has three NE facilities encompassing 500 acres, five million square feet of building space and over 5,000 employees in East Hanover, NJ, Summit, NJ and Suffern, NY.
The work consisted of design and construction phase services for all the “base-load” projects in the region. This included renovations to cleanrooms, laboratories, manufacturing areas, warehouses, offices and support utilities. Based on-site, our engineers and designers worked with various Novartis project managers as an extension of their in-house staff. Our services extended to CADD systems assistance in defining operational procedures and standards, as well ashardware and software recommendations.
Bergmann provided additional assistance with civil, survey, structural, architectural and interior design on an as-needed basis. On-site staff included senior electrical and mechanical engineers, electrical and mechanical designers and CADD technicians. We provided specialized assistance with facility management and computer modeling and visualization.
