Parish Flats Floodplain Wetlands Restoration, Naples NY

Parish Flats Floodplain Wetlands Restoration, Naples NY

Extensive 2D hydraulic modeling and conceptual designs for implementation of the Parish Flats Floodplain and Wetlands.

The Nature Conservancy, Town of Naples, Canandaigua Lake Watershed Council and the New York State Department of Conservation are developing a stream and wetland restoration project in the Parish Flats area at the south end of Canandaigua Lake. Bergmann provided land survey, soil assessments, groundwater monitoring, wetlands characterization, habitat assessments, hydrologic analysis and hydraulic modeling of the baseline conditions, as well as a hydraulic model of the proposed conditions. Bergmann staff conducted site assessments to broadly characterize the more than 250-acre project site according habitat types and potential wetland areas. The project included conceptual implementation designs for use in grant applications, as well as two public meetings to gain community feedback regarding the Parish Flats Floodplain and Wetland Restoration Project.
