Exterior and main court renovation of Philadelphia Mills to create a more timeless regional mall character.
Bergmann was tasked with renovating Philadelphia Mill's interior for the first time since the Mills Corporation built the Outlet Center in 1989. The intent of the improvements was to re-brand the Center with a timeless regional mall character. The modernized exterior entrance structures and landscape enhance the customers’ experience from arrival through to the interior. The new interior design projects a fresh, contemporary aesthetic providing an inviting and comfortable atmosphere to shop. The dated, ‘themed’ entries were replaced by a simpler physical gateway feature addressing both the scale of the large parking fields and the experience for pedestrian as they approach the entrances. Using durable finish materials throughout and the careful addition of landscaping, softseating, and lighting accents improves the appearance of the mall while providing the customer with an impression of a contemporary shopping experience – both inside and out.
