Price Chopper 19th Street Redevelopment, Exterior, Watervliet NY

Price Chopper 19th Street Redevelopment, Exterior, Watervliet NY

A multi-stage redevelopment of the Price Chopper on 19th street in Watervliet, New York.

Bergmann provided the architectural renderings, as well as approvals/permitting, site layout, grading design, utility sizing and design and stormwater management design for the Price Chopper 19th Street Redevelopment in Watervliet, New York.

The first phase of this multi-phase development included the demolition of a number of existing buildings and construction of a 39,000 SF Price Chopper supermarket including applicable parking, infrastructure, and stormwater management facilities. At full-build out, this project will also include two additional retail/commercial buildings totaling 5,700 SF. Due to the lack of space on the site, a unique stormwater management design approach was used. An underground stormwater storage facility was designed to mitigate the increase in impervious area. Additionally, stormwater from the new impervious area was treated using multiple rain gardens, which is a New York State Department of Environmental Conservation green infrastructure practice, allowing the project to meet both water quality and runoff reduction volume requirements.
