Bergmann relocated the Digital Den from its old location in the Barnes & Noble Bookstore to a new location on RIT’s campus, combining the Photo Store and HUB Express Digital Printing for a more convenient “one stop digital shop” for students. Bergmann renovated the 5,000 square foot space residing in Monroe Hall to promote student use as well as to enhance the storefront. Renovations included a new secure storefront opening, new displays with storage capacity for the sale of digital equipment, a shared sales counter for the Digital Den and Photo Store that included separate stations for technical help, equipment drop-off/repairs, a printing station, and a designated space for employees with lockable storage areas. The design also included a designated gathering area for small groups and an interactive product display complete with laptops, gaming, video display, and virtual reality gear.
