The new Mt. Hope Distributed Transit Station serves the unique transit needs of the combined University of Rochester Medical Center/Collegetown Campus. The station provides service at several locations forming a loop surrounding the Campus complex. It includes seven thematically-designed transit station structures, developed in a way that responds to customer needs. This model was found to be much more effective in enhancing transit service in the Campus district than a single, consolidated transit center. The station sites are designed to attract new ridership to the RTS system and enhance the customer experience of existing riders. By focusing on station conveniences and amenities at significant entrance points to Campus facilities, RTS will provide easier access to customer destinations.
