Following the loss of the Spencerport Fire District Station No. 1 to a fire in August 2006, Bergmann worked with the Fire Commissioners to identify several alternatives to redevelop the existing, strategically-located site.
The new facility meets the needs of the Fire District and local community for the foreseeable future and includes five drive-through bays, a turnout gear room, dispatch office, and apparatus support spaces. A two-story office provides dedicated operational space separated from a community room used for voting and village meetings, as well as department training. The second floor includes district offices, bunk rooms, locker facilities and a fitness area. Extensive site design efforts maximized parking, separated responding personal vehicles from departing apparatus and simplified apparatus maneuvering. An apron snow melt system ensures safe departure of apparatus.
