In association with Francis Cauffman (Lead Architect), Bergmann provided structural engineering services for this new signature research and science building.
Bergmann provided structural engineering services for the new five-story, 200,000-square-foot steel framed research and science building located at the University of Rochester Medical Center in Rochester, NY. The building design consisted of adding three additional stories to the already two-story building. Bergmann implemented welded steel moment frames to help resist strong wind forces. The building features also included highly unusual geometry and structural eccentricities, a two-story lobby with atrium spaces, and five different types of façade materials. This project is LEED Silver certified and was completed in 2010.
