Bergmann served as the Program Manager for more than 75 active Walmart Supercenter projects.
Bergmann's program management work for Walmart had a total construction value of over $700 million and totaled more than 10 million SF of new retail space. Services included managing each project from initial site investigation and planning, through local and regulatory approvals, to final design and construction completion. We coordinated the design, permitting, approvals and construction for each project with a team of architects, engineers, attorneys, land brokers and other technical specialists.
We coordinated municipal approvals with the project teams, which included the New York State Environmental Quality Review process (SEQRA), site plan approval, variance approvals, architectural reviews and zoning approvals. We worked closely with team members to obtain and track permits solicited from regulatory agencies, including the US Army Corps of Engineers and NYS Department of Environmental Conservation and other relevant state agencies. Additionally, all Walmart stores included a food service tenant (e.g., Subway, Taco Bell or McDonalds) that Bergmann also permitted and implemented.
