Provided architecture and engineering services for the new Warner School at the University of Rochester.

Bergmann teamed with SHW Group to design the new Warner School of Education on the campus of the University of Rochester. This is the first freestanding facility to be built on the ‘lower quad’ of the historic campus in more than thirty years. The University consolidated the school’s previously decentralized facilities into a single, high quality learning environment. The architectural design, heavily influenced by its context, maintains the established sense of campus scale and materials and reinforced the university's existing ‘edges’.

Programmed spaces include specialized classrooms, faculty offices, meeting rooms and community spaces. The building was planned and designed so that future growth within the school can be accommodated.

Project Highlights

  • Created a visible identity and image for the school within the larger University community
  • Provided areas for collaboration and group study for both faculty and students, as well as quality classroom environments rich with technology
  • Designed to meet LEED Silver requirements
