Winn Dixie is a regional supermarket chain headquartered in Jacksonville. Bergmann designed its flagship grocery store in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. The project involved an exterior face-lift and an interior overhaul intended to freshen up the building’s dated 1970’s design. Some of the owner’s main concerns were that the exterior elevation capitalize on the store’s new branding strategy, solicit attention from the adjacent A1A traffic corridor and integrate materials and colors that would complement that local architectural vernacular.
